Physician Assistant

Alfie Khan (Female)

Physician Assistants are healthcare professionals who work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

They are not doctors and work under the supervision of a named senior doctor (a General Medical Council registered consultant or general practitioner), providing care to patients in primary, secondary and Community Care environments. Physician Assistants see patients who are considered appropriate by the supervising GP Partners. The supervising GP Partners also review those patients with the Physician Assistant, after the clinic.

Our receptionists will ask you whether you are agree to have an appointment with a Physician's Assistant. If you wish to see a Doctor instead of a Physician's Assistant, then that is entirely your choice to make that request.

The Receptionists and Admin Team

Our friendly professional team of reception staff is your first contact with the health centre. They are on hand to help you obtain the service you require. Our dedicated Admin team deal with referrals, correspondence management, prescriptions and clinical audits.

District Nurses, Health Visitors and Community Midwives can all be contacted via the Single Point of Access (SPOA) telephone number:

District Nurses

These are community nurses from the RDASH Trust who assess the health of, and prescribe care for, people with identified health needs within a community setting.

Health Visitors

Health visitors are qualified nurses who are trained in Children's health promotion and education. They are trained to assess the development of babies and pre-school children, advice on all aspects of health and behaviour, and offer support to families.

Community Midwives

Midwives from Doncaster Royal Infirmary attend antenatal clinics and give general advice.

Counsellor

A counselling service is available for patients referred by the doctors.

Physiotherapy

The physiotherapy attends the surgery on a weekly basis. Our reception staff can refer and book you an appointment with the physiotherapist if appropriate.
