The Receptionists
Our friendly professional team of administration staff is your first contact with the health centre. They are on hand to help you obtain the service you require.
District Nurses
These are community nurses from the
PCT who assess the health of, and prescribe care for, people with identified health
needs within a community setting. You can contact them on 384240.
Health Visitors
Health visitors are qualified nurses
employed by the PCT who are trained in health promotion and health education.
Whatever your age, they can advise and support you in improving your general health.
They are trained to assess the development of babies and pre-school children,
to advise on all aspects of health and behaviour, and to offer support to families.
You can contact them on 384250.
Community
Midwives
Midwives from DRI attend antenatal
clinics and give general advice.
Counsellor
A counselling service is available
for patients referred by the doctors.
Physiotherapy
The physiotherapy service is funded
partly by charitable contributions raised by the practice, and partly by the NHS,
and is available to patients living in Hatfield, Hatfield Woodhouse, Dunsville
and Dunscroft. Your GP can refer you to the physiotherapist if appropriate.
Chiropody
Routine advice and help for problems of walking and foot pain is provided in close co-operation with the chiropodist in the health centre. NHS access to the chiropodist is for retired people or those with certain chronic conditions only. Diabetics particularly need routine chiropody.
Dietetic Advice
A visiting dietician works in conjunction with the doctors and practice nurses.
GP Registrars/Medical
Students
From time to time the practice may
have a GP registrar in for further primary care training before going on to find
a full time post in general practice, or we may host attachments of medical students.
We will always notify you when this is happening. We hope that you will feel able
to help in this training, but you have the right, and will always be given the
option, to decline to have a registrar or student involved in any consultation.
